Tenir is a true ski-in, ski-out hotel situated in the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau, far from the noise of the city. Guests are accommodated in detached rooms equipped with all modern amenities.

The hotel features only ten rooms, each providing everything necessary for complete rest and comfort.

Philosophy and Origin of the Name

The philosophy of Tenir is to offer guests the opportunity to reconnect with nature, to feel its presence, and to realize that we are only a small part of a vast, beautiful, and harmonious world. Here, one can gaze at the star-filled sky, experience the silence of white snow, listen to the whisper of the wind, or simply immerse in the stillness of the majestic peaks of the Trans-Ili Alatau—finding peace, harmony, and renewal through the natural energy of the mountains.

The name Tenir originates from Tengri, the ancient sky deity of the Tengrian spiritual tradition. In the Kazakh language, the word “Tәңір” (Tengri) means “sky.” Tengrism emerged from the worldview of Turkic nomadic tribes and was closely connected with the perception of nature as a living, sacred presence. Since ancient times, this belief brought people closer to nature; nomadic peoples considered themselves part of it and lived in harmony with the surrounding world. The supreme deity—after whom the belief was named—was Tengri, the embodiment of the eternal sky.

Sustainability

Sustainable development is a fundamental principle of Tenir Eco Hotel. It is based on meeting the needs of guests while preserving the environment and avoiding harm to the surrounding natural ecosystem.

The Tenir team strives to minimize environmental impact, implement eco-friendly initiatives, and apply resource-saving technologies, making ecological safety the hotel’s highest priority.

Eco-materials in construction – The exterior is finished with larch shingles, chosen to preserve the natural authenticity of the landscape. This highly sustainable material reliably protects the internal metal and mineral-wool structure from moisture, sunlight, and wind exposure.

Thermal insulation – Multi-layer sandwich panels minimize heat loss and significantly reduce electricity consumption for heating while maintaining comfort in a high-altitude climate.

No permanent foundations or capital structures – Modular guest rooms are mounted on a metal base securely anchored into rock, allowing minimal disturbance to the natural terrain.

Energy-saving technologies – The hotel utilizes long-lasting, low-consumption LED lighting to decrease energy use and support environmentally responsible operation.
