    Arrival & Access

The hotel is located on a mountain peak, at the foot of glaciers and surrounded by impressive panoramic views. Access to the hotel is possible only via the cable car of the Shymbulak Mountain resort.

On weekends and public holidays, queues may form at the cable car stations, which may increase the overall ascent time. We kindly ask guests to take this into account when planning their trip and arrival time at the hotel.

As the hotel is situated in a high-altitude environment, we recommend choosing clothing appropriate to weather conditions and considering the cooler temperatures at elevation.

Cable Car Stations and Travel Time

The journey to Tenir begins at the Medeu base station, from where guests ascend by Cable car to the Highest point of the mountain range where the eco hotel is located. The ascent itself becomes a gradual transition from the rhythm of the city to the silence and purity of the high mountains.

    Cable car stations:

    1. Medeu — Shymbulak (Gondola)The ascent from the Medeu base station to the first station of the Shymbulak resort (2,200 m) follows a line approximately 4.5 km long and takes on average 22–24 minutes.
    2. Shymbulak — Mid Station (Combi-1) The ascent from the first station of the resort to the mid station at an altitude of 2,800 m takes approximately 12–13 minutes.
    3. Mid Station — 3200 (Combi-2) The final ascent to Tenir Eco Hotel takes about 7–8 minutes.
    • Cable car lines operate according to the schedule of the Shymbulak mountain resort, while evening access is regulated by resort rules and seasonal conditions.
    • Accommodation at the hotel does not include automatic unlimited use of the cable car. If guests descend to the lower stations during the day, an additional ticket may be required to return to the hotel.
    • For guests’ convenience, Multipass tickets is available for purchase - a reusable, multi-day pedestrian pass designed for comfortable travel on the resort’s cable cars. Multipass allows use of the Combi-1 and Combi-2 lines with a maximum of up to four ascents per day.

    Luggage & Comfort

Due to Tenir’s high-altitude location, luggage transfer includes ascent by cable car and short walking segments. For maximum comfort, we recommend traveling with light and carefully planned baggage.

Individual luggage assistance can be arranged for an additional fee. However, due to limited staff availability, this service may not be accessible during certain time intervals. We kindly ask guests to contact the hotel team in advance and reserve a convenient time slot to ensure timely coordination and the most comfortable arrival possible.

This format of travel allows guests to fully experience Tenir’s greatest advantage — the silence, purity of mountain air, and the unique sense of calm created by the high-altitude surroundings.
