Location and directions

The distance from the center of Almaty to the lower cable car station (“Medeu”) is 21–22 km, with a scenic drive of approximately 30–40 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. The journey then continues with a panoramic cable car ascent through the Shymbulak mountain resort, lasting up to 60 minutes. The total travel time from the city center to Tenir is approximately 1.5 hours.
